"Given the many studies researching the cardiovascular impact of exergames, very little research has been done on the effects of feedback on game performance.

If feedback’s role is to inform the user on skill proficiency, then how will no feedback impact learning.

The purpose of this study was to determine how much improvement occurs in two hours of training over 2 days while playing Positive Gaming’s iDANCE system with some participants receiving game feedback and some without."

Since many players aren't challenged that much with official ITG 1 & 2 songs anymore, we decided to include several Additional Songs, known to the scene under the term "Custom Songs", for this year's tournament.

These Additional Songs are generally available during the tournament for players to choose from in any "Singles" discipline, as long as the difficulty complies with specific per-round-rules.

There will be no Additional Songs available for "Doubles" disciplines.

The event will be held in cooperation with the Finnish Dance Gamer Association (FDGA) in the same portion of the Silverstone facilities as in 2009 and the main game for the tournaments will be In The Groove.

The Event Dates are 29. July - 1. August 2010.

We recommend that interested players plan to arrive on July 28th and leave August 2nd.

Members of the Positive Gaming team recently showcased the new iDANCE2 software in cooperation with our partner, Gopher Sport at the 2010 California State AHPERD in Ontario, California.  The event is an annual state conference and is historically, one of the largest of its kind.  The booth was located at premier location in the front of the hall and was almost fully dedicated to showcasing the Positive Gaming iDANCE2 system.  Throughout the show, attendees, including many children and physical education professionals gathered to enjoy playing and to learn about all of the many new features that reside in the newly released software.

The prestigious series of awards is offered through a collaborative effort by the city of Frankfurt, the Hessian Ministry of Economics, the LPR Hessen, and the Game Industry Association in cooperation with the European Commission. The awards are designed to reveal possible applications for the best innovative computer and video games, to acknowledge new or young talent and to contribute to further international networking and therefore advance the games sector in Europe.

The uniqueness and innovative nature of the Positive Gaming iDANCE system resulted in it being selected as one of only four titles shortlisted within the "Innovative Technology (Hardware and Software)" category (from over 70 titles considered; please see below for other nominees). The event took place October 15th – 17th in the McCormick event center in downtown Chicago, IL and marked the first time the beta version of the Positive Gaming iDANCE version 2 software was shown in the US. The booth quickly drew a crowd each day as a collection of the best machine dancers stepped to the beat of some of the new, exclusive to iDANCE, songs contained within version 2. The new version 2 graphics rolled up a 7' x 10' screen and conference attendees from all over the US were keen to try the system. On many occasions, all three difficulty levels rolled up the screen simultaneously and first time players, of varying ages played alongside some of the best dancers in the country. The booth was situated amongst various premier strength and cardio equipment displays but seemed to always have a larger audience than anywhere on the show floor. Chris Foy and Kyle Ward, two legends in machine dance, led the event play and many group play activities, including an “Around the World” game.

Event Description: The event was part of a large commitment from the South Korean government to support  the digital arts, games, and content within the province of Gyeonggi.

An elaborate opening ribbon cutting ceremony served to officially kick off the Korea Serious Games Festival on September 25th – 27th, 2009 in the Gyeonggi Province of South Korea.  The event, which received lots of media attention and was attended by many leading officials from the South Korean government, marked the launch of Positive Gaming iDANCE in the Korean market.   The representation at the event was the result of a collaborative effort between ExergameFitness and ExergameKorea.  Our product (iDANCE) was the focus of the main display in the entrance of the Seongnam Korea Design Center, where the event was held.  For the duration of the event, attendees eagerly awaited a chance to play the new Version 2 (BETA) of Positive Gaming iDANCE.  The South Korean Governor and the Ambassador of New Zealand were among the many that played.  Some attendees, who were avid gamers, even donned costumes of their favorite game characters.  As with every demonstration of the system, onlookers and players alike made their sentiments towards Positive Gaming iDANCE obvious with their large smiles and willingness to wait for a turn to play.

The event was part of a large commitment from the South Korean government to support  the digital arts, games, and content within the province of Gyeonggi.   Financially, the government has made an initial commitment of over $60 million dollars as it sees the importance and the societal benefits that naturally correlate to gaming products such as Positive Gaming iDANCE.  Speakers from all of the world were brought in for the event, including Assistant Professor Stephen Yang from SUNY Cortland in New York, a prominent researcher in the effectiveness of exergaming products.

Event Description: Leisure Industry Week is the ultimate event for the latest products, services and thinking for the entire out-of-home leisure market.

Positive Gaming was recently one of the main attractions at the Leisure Industry Week 2009 trade show in Birmingham, UK, which took place September 21st – September 23rd. The system was displayed by Pulse Fitness, a premier fitness equipment distributor with presence in 20 countries worldwide. The booth, which won the award for the “Best Booth” at the tradeshow, was centrally located and had the largest footprint of any booth at the event. The new Positive Gaming iDANCE Version 2 (BETA) was prominently displayed on a 80” plasma and over 15 dancers traveled from several countries to demonstrate the exciting new features of Positive Gaming iDANCE version 2 (BETA).

In addition to the 12-player system that continuously drew large crowds for the duration of the event, an 8-player system was demonstrated on several occasions in the dedicated demonstration area of the show. Many prominent people in the fitness and exergaming industries were present, including Alasdair Thin, a prominent researcher who has been quoted in TIME magazine, Chris Johnson, Founder of Pulse Fitness, Richard Coshott, Founder and CEO of Gamercize and Kyle Ward & Chris Foy, two dance game legends. Event attendees that played Positive Gaming iDANCE made the excitement of the system obvious by their keen interest, huge smiles and sweaty brows.

Emily Rosenberry, Business Manager for Positive Gaming, gave a joint presentation with Richard Coshott, Founder and CEO of Gamercize, about the numerous benefits of exergaming in terms of cognitive, social and health development and wellbeing. This marks the first time exergaming was given a spot within the Leisure Industry Week speaker series and it was only natural that representatives from two of the leading companies in the exergaming industry were chosen as presenters.

The event was comprised of 4 intense days of competition and social interaction amongst the world’s best players and was deemed an incredible success by the organizers and players alike!

75 Players and many spectators from over 14 countries gathered to partake in the annual event which is organized and sponsored by Positive Gaming.

The Iron Man Event was the main feature of the first day and required players to compete on an array of Machine Dance skills. Due to the success of the Iron Man structure, we have full intentions of including it in future tournament agendas. We appreciate everyone that participated and congratulate the winners!

The remaining days of the tournament were filled with intense competition in single and double tournaments and included competition in bar- and no-bar-categories. The last day included a presentation by Positive Gaming, an awards ceremony and an intense live concert by G-Powered and Ocillator X.
